106 - The Mayor’s Suite
Williamsport was incorporated as a city on January 15, 1866. On June 4, of the same year, Major James M. Wood was sworn in as the city’s first chief executive. Major James H. Perkins, the fourth mayor, built the lumber boom and started the city on its way to become the “Lumber City.” Archibald M. Hoagland, mayor from 1917 to 1924, welcomed the soldiers home from WWI with parades and prayers. These are just a few of the people we honor in the “The Mayor’s Suite.”
“The Mayor’s Suite” is next door to “The Engine Room,” and the two share an entrance area, perfect for traveling with friends or additional family members.
Our traditional rooms, with their large windows and soft colors, provide a very comfortable atmosphere. Private toilet/shower rooms are brightly lit as well, and the original charm and character of this old city hall adds to the beauty of each room.
“The Mayor’s Suite” (Suite 106) has some wonderful bonus features, including a separate room with a sofa and a large counter & stools. This room is equipped with a sink, Keurig machine, microwave, and mini fridge.
The roomy bedroom has two QUEEN beds.
Like the HULK Rooms, the history of Williamsport is proudly on display in our traditional rooms and suites, with some pictures dating back to the late 1800s. The lovingly-restored photographs of our hotel, including a few floor-to-ceiling applications, allow each visitor a chance to stroll through our city’s rich history.
Whether every visit brings our guest back to a favorite room, or sparks the curiosity to see what is in the next room, we are sure that each visit will be a historical one.
In this Suite: Hair dryer, iron/ironing board, Keurig machine, mini refrigerator. A comfortable, common lobby with vending machine, ice maker, microwave and Keurig machine can also be found on the THIRD FLOOR, off the elevator to the left.
